Polytag technology enables packaging to be described, tagged and traced, in order to generate never-before-seen data about packaging as it transitions through the circular economy, and offer direct to consumer communication from on-pack label QR codes (serialised and non-serialised).
A Polytag account provides easy access to information – at barcode level - about packaging, and intuitive tools to manage packaging lifecycles and optimise and incentivise recycling.

The team at Polytag are committed recycling technology pioneers. Polytag work closely with governments to develop digital deposit return schemes along with intuitive solutions, to manage EPR liabilities, Plastic Packaging Tax and ESG legislation.
Polytag partner with FMCG printing solution providers and regional recycling centres to provide 'full-circle' visibility of packaging as it travels through the circular economy and gets recycled.
A brand or retailer can easily set-up a Polytag company account, which will enable them to complete the following activities:
- Generate, print and store barcodes in QR code format (serialised and non-serialised). These QR codes are scannable at point of sale.
- Generate, print and store serialised QR codes to be scanned by any app in order to return price look-up information and redeem loyalty and rewards with confidence (anti-fraud and anti-theft)
- Build and host marketing and/or educational campaign content on landing pages linked to product QR codes, in order to enhance customer experience with rich product-specific content. Our QR codes are built to meet GS1 Digital Link standard and offer a range of analytics tools on a dashboard.
- Access never-before-seen data about packaging (at barcode level) as it transitions through recycling centres in order to inform sustainability strategy and EPR policies

Approved products
Polytag have been approved for their product Polytag account.
Brands and retailers set-up an account that enables the management of packaging lifecycles (linked to barcode number). This is achieved through an intuitive and easy to use 'describe, tag and trace' dashboard, which complies with GS1 standards.
Within the account approved GS1-compliant QR codes (serialised and non-serialised) can be generated and copied into label artwork.
Landing pages linked to barcodes or groups of barcodes can be built and managed using easy to use landing page builder tool, which can include embedded links, videos and gifs – all customisable to meet your brand requirements.
A Polytag account provides easy access to information about packaging, and intuitive tools to manage packaging lifecycles such as deposit return schemes (DRS).
This information is increasingly valuable to brands and retailers, because of legislative and tax liability requirements, relating to how packaging is managed and handled post-consumption.
